PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Assist the principal in providing instructional leadership and overall administration of assigned campus operations. Oversee student discipline, support teacher development, and foster a safe, nurturing, and academically rigorous school environment. Lead and implement schoolwide programs aligned with district and state policies to ensure high levels of student achievement and organizational effectiveness.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Instructional Leadership:

  1. Assist the principal in the implementation of effective instructional programs aligned with district and state standards.
  2. Conduct classroom walk-throughs and observations; support teacher growth through coaching and feedback.
  3. Participate in the development and monitoring of the Campus Improvement Plan (CIP).
  4. Support the use of data-driven decision-making to improve student achievement.

Student Management:

  1. Manage student discipline processes in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct, implementing fair and consistent disciplinary practices.
  2. Promote restorative practices and positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS).
  3. Serve as a resource for teachers regarding classroom management strategies and student engagement.

School Operations:

  1. Assist the principal in the management of daily campus operations, including scheduling, facility use, supervision, and emergency response protocols.
  2. Coordinate campus testing programs (STAAR, TELPAS, local assessments) and ensure compliance with state testing requirements.
  3. Support the supervision of extracurricular activities, after-school programs, and school events.

Staff Development and Supervision:

  1. Serve as an instructional leader by supporting professional development initiatives for teachers and staff.
  2. Assist with the T-TESS appraisal process, including pre-conferences, observations, and summative evaluations.
  3. Help identify and support professional growth opportunities aligned with campus and district goals.

Parent and Community Engagement:

  1. Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, students, and community stakeholders.
  2. Promote a positive campus climate that fosters parent involvement and community partnerships.
  3. Resolve conflicts and address parent concerns promptly and professionally.
  4. Prepare reports and maintain records related to student discipline, attendance, academic interventions, and other assigned duties.

 

 

Other Duties:

  1. Perform duties of the principal in the principal’s absence as assigned.
  2. Attend district meetings, professional development sessions, and evening activities as required.
  3. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
